ACER rubrum

Red maple, round-headed, medium-sized tree. In spring bare branches are covered with tiny red flowers. Dark green leaves turn bright red in autumn, looking alike the Canadian national emblem. Producing best colour on neutral or acid soil. Excellent for wet sites and is tolerant to atmospheric pollution.(3)
